W.G. WELCH AND HITT WAGE THEFT

Dec 09, 2021

This wage theft collective action was brought on behalf of a group of construction workers performing work for W.G. Welch, LLC and HITT Contracting Inc. Plaintiffs allege their employers failed to pay them overtime premiums for work done in Washington, DC at 1000 South Capitol Street, SE, which was developed by Lerner Enterprises. The Complaint further alleges that while employed at the project, Plaintiffs regularly worked in excess of forty hours per week but were not paid at the required time and a half overtime rate for this work. Additionally, the Complaint alleges that the Plaintiffs were not paid for several weeks of work and were illegally classified as independent contractors, when they were in fact employees.
