SEPARATED FAMILY

This Federal Tort Claims Act case was brought on behalf of a Honduran father and daughter who were forcibly separated from each other by Border Patrol.   The daughter was sent to a facility for unaccompanied children in Syosset, New York and her father was deported to Honduras.  The Government kept the daughter detained in New York for approximately four months, causing her and her family immense trauma and stress.
