Pillar Construction Wage Theft

On October 21, 2019 Handley Farah & Anderson filed a lawsuit in D.C. Superior Court on behalf of a group of former employees of Pillar Construction, a subcontractor of Balfour Beatty Construction and Lendlease Construction, alleging they failed to properly compensate workers for work done on The Kelvin and The Belgard, two luxury apartment buildings in Washington, D.C.

The Complaint alleges that while employed by Defendants at the Projects, the Plaintiffs regularly worked in excess of forty hours per week but were not paid at the required time and a half overtime rate for this work.  Additionally, the Complaint alleges that the Plaintiffs were illegally classified as independent contractors, when they were in fact employees.
