HFA Files Wage Theft Complaint Against Medical Transport Company

May 20, 2018

Handley Farah & Anderson filed a collective action complaint against Saiprasad Medical Transport, LLC and its owner Moulin Lalaji, alleging years of failure to pay legally-required wages to the company’s employees. Saiprasad Medical Transport is a door to door non-emergency medical transportation provider, operating throughout Washington DC, Maryland and Virginia. The complaint alleges that Saiprasad Medical Transport’s drivers often work well in excess of 40 hours per week, yet the company fails to pay them anything for a significant number of these hours and fails to pay an overtime premium for any hours worked in excess of 40 in a week. The complaint also alleges that when named plaintiff April Lama complained to Saiprasad Medical Transport owner Moulin Lalaji about this wage theft, her employment was promptly terminated. The case is pending in Superior Court in the District of Columbia.
