GERARD STONE COATED METAL ROOFING

Wyse v. Gerard Roof Products, LLC, Civil Action No. 3:19-cv-00121 (U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Florida).

This consumer class action alleges that stone-coated metal roofing manufactured and distributed by Gerard Roof Products, LLC was falsely advertised and suffers from a significant defect. The premium priced roofing at issue is marketing as requiring little to no maintenance and come with a lifetime warranty. However, the lawsuit alleges that, in reality, the roofing severely discolors from mold, algae, and/or fungus, requiring costly and repeated maintenance to maintain its appearance. The lawsuit alleges that when consumers attempt to make warranty claims, Gerard systematically denies the claims and requires consumers to undertake the substantial cost of maintaining the roofing.
